At the beginning of Act 1 Scene 1 there is a standoff between the montagues and capulets. Sampson, from the family of Capulet bites his thumb at Abraham, from the family of montage. Other than that Romeo is in love with Rosaline however Rosaline doesn’t like him back. Then Romeo loses hope and is taken to a party and falls in love with Juliet instantly.
